As much time as I have spent on Twitter it has helped to find opportunities for learning and advancing in my job search. LinkedIn has been great for expanding my network and connecting with old work colleagues who I lost contact with.

Yet, I am really looking for a way to organize my Online Networking to move into more in person networking. Finding the time to do it all can be challenging. Trying to convince others that online networking is worth while too.

It's all about networking. Several years ago I got offered a job in a software company after spending some time on a related online forum, and making friends with other developers. No matter what field you are looking job for, networking will ALWAYS help you, and often in a very big way.

I haven't yet read this book, but I certainly will, just out of curiosity and to see if online networking (w/ job hunting in mind) can be done in a more systematic manner.

This is such a good subject I intented to blog about it too :-)

A large number of Employers are using the social network for sourcing candidates directly. That even increases the necessity to be Present and Branded properly there.
