The great thing about using social media such as Facebook and Twitter is that you can be your shy and introverted self and not have to put yourself "out there" physically (at least for a while). These tools will allow a person to form relationships with people without all the awkwardness and feel more comfortable when the eventual meeting takes place. They are also excellent ways to shrug off feelings of fear and insecurity as the more you know about people, the more you realize that we all suffer anxieties, fears and concerns. That in itself can take the angst out of networking! Excellent article Miriam! I think these 3 tips that you have shared are great ways to network. It is much more fun to make the effort in venues in which one feels comfortable.
