Ed – thanks for your comment. If job search were scientific…It is such an art, with results influenced by individual perceptions. Interesting point about SEO. I’m all for targeting. I think it’s the best tool a job seeker has!

It’s true that often, advice is contradictory, and that does nobody any good, least of all the candidate.

The point you are making re: ATSs and their vagaries is excellent. It isn’t just about writing for the human reader, but also for keywords and database queries.

It makes me wonder if SEO training is of any particular relevance, actually.
