Privacy is a tricky factor, but with a professional online presence, job seekers and entrepreneurs can do very well leveraging social media. Looking at Indeed.com’s Trends, you see that terms like “social media,” “facebook,” and similar terms are appearing increasingly more often in job postings.

I talk with many job seekers who are avoiding social media in the hope of protecting their privacy when what they are doing is becoming out of date – and, worse -PROVING to potential employers that they are out of date!
