I always tell my clients that there’s never any excuse for an error on a resume. Yes, you are so right about spell-check not always catching misspellings when the word it sees can exist in its current spelling (e.g., “lead” instead of “led,” very common error for the past tense on executive resumes). One tip I use as a resume writer is to read the resume from the bottom up, not the top down. That way you won’t get caught up in the ideas, but able to actually “see” each word.
