Thank you for the article. As someone with a disability, Multiple Sclerosis, it would be of great value to be able to secure meaningful work that I can perform from home. Many of the jobs I seek are to ultimately provide online support/web content for the online user, and yet the companies hiring for these roles don't allow telecommuting from the start, they insist on having someone doing the work in person from an office. How curious to support users across the nation and around the world 24x7, yet insist that the worker's body be there in the company chair. I don't want to (nor have to) disclose my disability, which is often not visible, so there is the catch about asking for at-home work from the start. It will be obvious if someone doesn't do their work, plain and simple. Plenty of people sit in an office and play on their phones, the internet, etc. and slack off. I hope companies will realize this scenario and make it less difficult for people like me, with solid computer and people skills, to get employment.
