This is a good article to get a veteran started in the right direction. Two main choke points for employers hiring veterans are locating the right candidate (Military skills translations) and convincing hiring managers that these heroes have the tangible skills they are looking for. I would personally recommend a veteran put an impact statement. An impact statement are tangible numbers and data that direct reflects the position they are applying for. For example, if a veteran was an E-8 in the Army as a 42A, what would they put down? This position is a human resources manager with personal management experience. The tangibles include project management, policy implementation, personnel records management, and supervisory responsibilities. Just food for thought.

Sincerely,
