When dealing with experienced professionals, with family obligations, it's very important to be aware of their realities as it relates to the job market. Radical career change often involves a level of financial sacrifice that many families cannot afford. Career changers sometimes need to look at trends in their field and what training and certfications would make them more marketable in their field. Some of my clients are so close in skill sets that relatively minor traing would make them more competitive.
