I guess that it took at least 10 minutes to compost these kinds of posts and who know how much more time to google blogs that used these kinds of videos. Such well invested time in defending the chimpanzees.

Now that Miriam knows that it's wrong to laugh at these kinds of things, I bet that the life of those chimpanzees will be much better.

Talking about time and effort well spent.

Btw, Miriam has some very useful tips here for people who waste their time. They can even make some profit with that time. With that profit, sometimes, they organize charities...and help causes...animal rights causes...

Here's the thing, you, like CareerBuilders, are only looking at their time on set. Everyone else, including professionals who have devoted their lives to studying chimpanzees, are looking at the entirety of the chimpanzee's life. For example: the argument "well, I only bought a blood diamond once" doesn't negate the fact that you expressly supported an unethical practice that caused needless pain, suffering, and death. ANY support of such a deviant device, anything short of condemnation, is directly linked to future repercussions. There is no gray area here.

Add to it that the Lincoln Park Zoo (Chicago, Illinois) conducted a survey in 2005 asking participants to select which of three great apes pictured (chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans) were considered endangered in the wild. Of those choices, 95% of thought gorillas were endangered, 91% thought orangutans were endangered, but only 66% believed chimpanzees to be endangered. Of those who did not believe chimpanzees were endangered, 35% justified their response by noting how often they see chimpanzees in the media and as pets.

Lori - I appreciate your opinion. I have read that these animals are treated well, and there is a representative of an animal advocacy agency on set to supervise. The situation you describe is certainly a sad one.

Miriam, you are clearly ignorant with your statement of "enjoyment" of the exploitation of these beautiful, endangered, highly intelligent animals. Chimpanzees are GREAT apes, not monkeys. They are ripped from their mother's breasts as an infant to be raised in captivity, in cramped cages, collared, and forced to "perform" to product this 30-second lame attempt at a "laugh". By the age of 6-7 years they are too big, and far too dangerous to remain profitable, so they are dumped at a non-profit sanctuary that gets NO support from their profiteers. They go on to live up to 50-60 years in these facilities. Many lack the social skills to live among others of their kind, and show emotional scarring that is beyond belief - hugging concrete walls, rocking uncontrollably, pulling out their hair, throwing their feces, and worse. Is that really worth your "enjoyment"? Please, educate yourself and reconsider your "endorsement" of this deplorable, archaic act of speciesism. Thank you.
