100 Conversations for Career Success honored with Career Innovator Award

Career Directors International, the premier organization for career professionals, including career coaches and resume writers, just announced their fourth annual Career Innovator Awards. The competition recognizes individuals on the forefront of career innovation and professionals providing products, services and information for job seekers and people wishing to manage their careers.

President of CDI, Laura DeCarlo says: “There are many true career innovators in our midst. This year, once again, we received some extremely innovative submissions from professionals all over the world.”  Miriam Salpeter of Keppie Careers and Laura M. Labovich of The Career Strategy Group won a Career Innovator Award for the popular job search book 100 Conversations for Career Success: Learn to Network, Cold Call, and Tweet Your Way to Your Dream Job” published by New York-based  LearningExpress, LLC.

The unique book is the first of its kind to provide job seekers situation-specific communication protocols, including scripts, templates, outlines, and worksheets, so they know what to say when contacting people and companies during their job searches. Since 92 percent of U.S. companies are turning to social media to source and hire candidates, the book includes several chapters that teach readers what to say and write to successfully leverage tools including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ to land jobs.

Labovich said, “I’d like to thank Career Directors International for acknowledging the role of scripts and communication preparation in the job search process.” Salpeter added, “We wrote this book to provide job seekers with a practical, useful tool to help them overcome their job search struggles. Now, no job seeker needs to wonder what to say or write when it’s time to pound the pavement.”
