Fun social media statistics

file000213085779Social media continues to impress with the various ways it enters our lives. I love social media statistics and information! I recently read that scientists in Australia are using it to track sharks! The scientists tagged the great whites so they send a signal that triggers a Twitter update to a special feed to alert swimmers when they get closer to shore. (It sounds fake, but it appears to be a real news story!)

Infographics and visuals are also important parts of our online experience that rose to prominence in the past year. Here is one from MarketingLand.com with some interesting data I hope you enjoy. I referenced these in my weekly segment on WIOD radio in Miami:
